“The Kennel” for Blue Dog Boats – Another great shed delivered by Perth shed builder AMC Sheds

When Andre (and Whiskey, the inspiration behind the business name!) at Blue Dog Boats approached AMC Sheds for a price to build a shed in Perth WA we were more than happy to help. Andre sent through his plans and we set to work looking over it all.

As Andre is a highly skilled marine fabricator specialising in aluminium boat building in Serpentine, he serves primarily the WA market. Being an honest hard working local bloke reflecting the values of AMC Sheds we were only too keen to help.

Upon receiving Andre’s plans we quickly noticed his proposed shed was from a high volume Eastern states supplier and although it stated “Made in Australia” the marketing failed to mention that while it was manufactured here it was not made with Australian materials but in fact cheap, imported and lower grade steel. This was completely against what Andre and his business is about. This manufacturer required 100% payment up front at the time of ordering which can be a risky move and way in excess of industry standards.

Upon realising this, Andre asked AMC Sheds for a supply-and-install quote for his new boat workshop. AMC Sheds worked closely with Andre to design a shed that was perfect for his needs and within budget. We invited Andre to see AMC Shed’s high quality and strength first hand at the shed we were constructing on site in North Dandalup at the time. Andre was very impressed and from there we arranged a site visit to finalise the project design and placement on site. This is not a service that could be provided by an interstate kit only, steel manufacturer.

There were some shire hiccups along the way (not everything is perfect!) but we finally received the stamp of approval in the form of a building approval for Blue Dog Boats 450sqm new workshop!

Blue Dog Sheds old workshop had seen better days and the new monster shed is affectionately nicknamed “The Kennel”! Andre and Blue Dog Boats business has grown exponentially since the completion of “The Kennel” with Andre having a rolling production line of boats heading out the door on completion to happy customers. Blue Dog Boats are currently hiring for their workshop such is the expansion.
